On Wednesday, November 12th, Breadcoin partnered with Catholic Charities in Tampa, FL to provide 220 residents of Tampa Hope with a hot, prepared meal provided by Angel’s Heavenly empanadas, a Breadcoin vendor. Tampa Hope is a program of Catholic Charities that not only provides vital shelter but also free hot meals twice daily so residents can focus on improving their lives. Breadcoin’s partnership with Catholic Charities enabled residents and onsite staff of Tampa Hope to have a choice of two empanadas and a side of french fries.
While this may seem like a small gesture, residents who rarely select the food they eat were able to experience the dignity of choice as they stepped up to place their orders. This connection was deeply felt, as Breadcoin volunteers and Angel’s Heavenly Empanadas staff received heartfelt thanks from residents and staff for their efforts.
