Most of the time, Breadcoin’s team and volunteers are working in different places. So having 20 people from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida, and Washington, DC together in one room was a rare opportunity.
Our annual Breadcoin Conference gave us time to look back at what happened across the regions over the past year and, more importantly, learn from one another. People shared stories from their communities and talked through some of the questions we’re working on together: How do we get Breadcoin to more people who can use it? And how can more people learn about Breadcoin in the first place?
We also spent time talking about our Table events and then experienced one ourselves. At a Shared Table, we sat down together and shared memories of the tables we grew up around and the meals we still remember.
There was plenty of work to do, but one of the best parts was simply being together. For a team that works across several states, there’s something different about having these conversations face to face and sharing a meal before everyone heads home again.
