Breadcoin Welcomes Two New Members to Its National Board

Breadcoin is pleased to welcome Curt Luthye and Cindy Wade to our national Board of Directors, bringing two longtime members of the Breadcoin community into new leadership roles.

Curt has been part of Breadcoin’s Maryland community for years, serving on the regional board and supporting Breadcoin as a donor. He brings more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience and currently serves as Executive Director of the Montgomery, Howard and Frederick Counties Chapter of the American Red Cross, where he works with a network of nearly 2,000 volunteers and community partners. Before joining the Red Cross, Curt spent nine years coordinating volunteer and community development efforts across the Caribbean. His career has centered on bringing people together and creating meaningful ways for them to serve their communities.

Cindy joined Breadcoin as a volunteer in 2025 and has already contributed in several important ways, including serving as a technology advisor and helping develop our Birthday Program. Working with local schools, she helped turn the idea into a program that has reached more than 500 students, coordinating the partnerships and processes needed to bring it to life. Beyond her work with Breadcoin, Cindy brings more than 15 years of experience in public-sector leadership, financial oversight, technology, and governance, including previous board service in Washington, DC.

Their election follows Dr. Leah Miller’s move from the national Board to her new staff role as Executive Director of Breadcoin Maryland. We’re grateful for Leah’s years of board service and excited to have her now leading our work across Maryland.
