Every Breadcoin represents a meal, a conversation, and a connection. But none of it would happen without the people behind the scenes who give their time, talent, and care to make the work possible. This National Volunteer Month, we want to recognize a few of the many people who have helped Breadcoin grow from a small idea into a larger network of neighbors helping neighbors.
Building the Foundation
- David
- Pam
- Barry
- Nicole
David has been part of Breadcoin since 2021 and serves as our Pennsylvania Regional Coordinator. He helped Breadcoin grow in Harrisburg and played a key role in launching our first pilot in a rural area (Perry County, PA). David is one of the people who helped turn Breadcoin from an idea into a system that can grow. He helped build our playbook that guides how Breadcoin regions operate. From inventory tracking to standard operating procedures, much of the structure behind Breadcoin today has David’s fingerprints on it.
Pam joined Breadcoin in 2023 as our Vendor Relations Manager. A chef by training, she understands both the practical realities of running a food business and the importance of making vendors feel valued. Pam helps vendors join the Breadcoin network and works through every challenge that comes up along the way, whether it is a payment issue, a language barrier, or simply making the process easier. Thanks to Pam, onboarding has become smoother, more welcoming, and more personal for the local businesses that make Breadcoin possible.
Barry has been helping Breadcoin since 2023 as our webmaster and one of the people behind the technology that keeps everything moving. Much of his work happens quietly in the background, but Breadcoin would not function the same way without it. Barry helps build and manage the systems that allow Breadcoin to track coins, support vendors, and stay organized as we grow. He also shares his expertise with our operations team and technology committee, helping Breadcoin prepare for what comes next.
Nicole has been supporting Breadcoin since 2022 as General Counsel and more recently as a member of our Board. She plays a critical role in making sure the organization is built on a strong and secure foundation. From charitable registrations to complex legal questions, Nicole helps the team navigate decisions with clarity and confidence. Her work protects Breadcoin as it grows, allowing the rest of the team to focus on expanding the model and serving communities.
Keeping Breadcoin Moving
- Nicky
- Elizabeth
- Doug
- Cindy
Nicky joined Breadcoin at the end of 2023, serving as our Regional Coordinator in Florida who keeps everything moving in Tampa. After the tragic loss of Breadcoin Florida’s original coordinator, Nicky stepped in quickly and helped the region continue to grow with care and consistency. She has built important relationships across the community. Nicky supports other members of the Florida team, helping make sure everything works together.
Elizabeth joined Breadcoin in 2023 and serves as Token Logistics Coordinator in Florida. She manages inventory for the Florida region and makes sure the right number of Breadcoins gets where it needs to go. Her careful attention to detail keeps the Florida team running smoothly. Because of Elizabeth, our team can focus on serving the community with confidence that the logistics behind the scenes are in place.
Doug became part of Breadcoin in 2025 as Pennsylvania’s Token Logistics Coordinator. As Breadcoin continues to expand across the state, Doug helps make sure every coin is counted, tracked, and delivered. He supports the Pennsylvania team with monthly deliveries and has helped strengthen relationships in the community. His steady, dependable work helps create the foundation for our continued growth in the region.
Cindy joined Breadcoin in 2025 and as our Birthday Program Manager helped turn an idea into a meaningful program for families. She played a key role in piloting the program with local schools, coordinating logistics, communication, and delivery. Thanks to Cindy’s organization and vision, the Birthday Program has already reached hundreds of students, providing Breadcoins so they can celebrate their special day with a meal of their choice.
